Makers of the LIFEPAK Lifepak series of defibrillators and AEDs, Physio-Control (formerly Medtronic) has been producing reliable medical devices since 1955. In the latter part of the 1950’s, Dr. Karl William Edmark created the first device to send an electrical current through the heart to treat ventricular fibrillation. This device became the prototype for the modern defibrillator, and Physio-Control introduced the first portable defibrillator nearly ten years later. Today, Physio-Control works in conjunction with EMS, doctors, nurses, and researchers to pursue new life-saving technologies.
At every point in the emergency medical system, from bystanders to trained hospital providers, the physical needs of the patient come first. Physio Control’s LIFEPAK line of AEDs and manual defibrillators are designed to respond to those individual needs.
Featuring an internal monitoring system, the LIFEPAK 12 and LIFEPAK 15 offer some of the most comprehensive care available in a portable defibrillator. Optional automated and manual settings allow medical personnel the maximum level of flexibility in treating both pediatric and adult patients. These innovative devices are operationally effective and equipped with LIFEPAK tough technology giving them maximum portability in the toughest of environments. Equipped with 12-lead systems, both defibrillators offer unparalleled monitoring and rapid recovery times.
The LIFEPAK 1000 defibrillator, LIFEPAK CR PLUS, and LIFEPAK Express AEDs were designed with the non-medical bystander in mind. Featuring rugged carrying cases and easy-to-use designs, each model features voice prompts and monitoring systems that assess the patient’s status. The LIFEPAK 1000 is fully automatic with voice and video prompts on CPR and shock administration while the LIFEPAK CR PLUS and LIFEPAK Express are semi-automatic, easy-to-use models that provide pictorial descriptions for electrode placement and use.
